I can officially say that I have gone fishing in the Mediterranean Sea!!!
I've been itching to go since I got here almost a month ago and I finally bought fishing gear... WOOHOO!
I went out a week ago and one of the stories that survived the night was about me catching Fred the Octopus. Mmmhm, that's right: I caught an octopus whose name is Fred. He has a wife named Olga and they have little minions. We are able to identify Fred because we marked one of his tentacles with a green sharpie. Yeah, oh dear!
I went fishing last night with my roommate and another of my friends at the pier... I got a few bites, but no fish, It's all good, it was a lot of fun!
My friend was the bait master, since I refused to touch worms, my roommate was the photographer and I was the fisherwoman.
In all, it was another great night in Pylos!

HAPPY CANADA DAY!! From Far Far AWAY!!!
ALLO ALL MY CANADIANS!
I'm a little sad that I'm not in Canada to celebrate this wonderful day --- but I am celebrating it over here, rest assured!
At the site today, we found this rock that we could use as face paint. I painted a maple leaf on a fellow Canadian's cheek and my friend painted a simplistic version of the flag on my face!! We later ended up smearing mud and looking like Indians -- my trench has become a tribe and we will be taking over the world... I am the Grand Master of The Arts and the High Enforcer... for anyone who knows me --- this is the best combination that describes me -- CHYEAH!
Enjoy the day and add a cheer for me back in Canada, eh?! HAHA!!

Ships Ahoy!
Ahoy mateys!
I love this town for so many reasons, but one that stands out is its harbour. Since the first day I got here to Pylos, I have seen so many different cool looking ships and tankers --- I'm always in awe. The nice part of it is, they pop by whenever and all I have to do is look outside my balcony!
I've got quite a collection of pictures --- here's a sneak peak!
I've seen a Maltese Cruise ship, a German cruise ship, oil tankers, and the picture below is a Russian navy intelligence ship.
The Russians were docked at the pier for a week, and so I had a good time staring at them in awe... They were dressed in blue and white and one of my friends started referring them to Donald Duck because of their get-up... oh dear!
You would see them walking around the Plataea in the afternoon after coming back from the dig, and my friends and I would look at them while drinking frappes or eating gelatos.. mmhmmm!!!
